Hertzelieb is a larger version of the Bambino doll the Käthe Kruse designed in the 1920s as a doll for doll-mothers to sew for. This doll comes with a reprint of Puppen Schneiderei (Dolls Dressmaking), a 1920s sewing book with patterns designed for Käthe Kruse dolls. The patterns in the reprint are scaled for the 10″ Herzelieb doll. There are patterns for 28+ different articles of clothing in plain sewing, knitting, and crochet.
Hertzelieb also comes with a miniature, jointed, wooden bear from the Erzgebirge region of Germany.
The doll’s head has been lovingly hand painted at the Käthe Kruse workshop in Donauwörth, Germany. The hair is painted in the style of the early Doll I dolls. The body has a wire armature for easy posing.
Pre-order for mid-October delivery.
